Writers
To become a writer for 93 Games
Studio, all you have to do is send us a writing sample.
Our schedule is completely full at this moment so we are
not excepting outside proposals for new works. If we
like your sample enough, our project managers will
contact you to determine your best fit within our
current projects. We will then sign contracts and work
with you until the product is ready to be published.
Most manuscripts require several drafts from the author,
and the total process (from proposal to publication) can
take many months, or longer. Authors are paid either
with a flat payment, per word rate or through royalties
depending on length and subject matter.
The writing sample is one to two
pages and should give us an idea of your writing style
and capability. We should be able to get a good feel for
what your writing will be like from reading the sample.
Please spell-check and edit your sample as much as
possible before sending it to us; we will assume that
your sample represents your best writing ability. Please
do not submit any poetry.
Your writing sample should be fun to
read, if its not chances are we will not read it. It
should be written in clear, simple English -- show off
the strength of your vocabulary, KISS (keep it simple
_____). 93 Games Studio takes great pride in every thing
we do, and we want everyone who writes/draws for us to
share our pride. We expect any author of a game or
supplement to participate in formal playtesting.
If you want to write a supplement for
an particular game/setting, it is your responsibility to
be familiar with that setting prior to submitting
writing samples.
If you have previously published
credits, you may list those instead of supplying a
sample. But it's always best to include a photocopy of a
page from your published work, in case we don't have
access to it.
All writing samples should be set to
us as an email attachment as a *.RTF document. All
submissions must be followed up with a two signed copy
of the
NDA (Non-disclosure Agreement). I will sign one and
mail it back to you. Please send all submissions should
be sent to
submissions@93gamesstudio.com and include “Writing
Sample” in the subject line. Also include a resume or at
the very least a brief statement about who you are and
why you want to write for us.
Artists
To become an artist for 93 Games
Studio, please send a link to your online portfolio (do
not send any art at this time) to
submissions@93gamesstudio.com and include “Art
Sample” in the subject line. At this time we are not
accepting any Anime style art. All submissions must be
followed up with a two signed copy of the
NDA (Non-disclosure Agreement). I will sign one and
mail it back to you.
Advisors
Because 93 Games Studio strives to
bring the most authentic and realistic portrayal of the
real world into the game world, we at times need
advisors to bring added expertise to our design team.
There are many areas which our writers do not have first
hand knowledge of, this is where advisors come in.
Advisors can be of either a military or civilian
background. There is only one requirement we ask of all
advisors, documentation of your expertise.
For military advisors, a copy of your
DD-214 (US) or equivalent document for a foreign
military. The term "DD-214" is often used generically to
mean "separation papers" or "discharge papers", no
matter what form number was used to document active duty
military service.
For civilian advisors it depends on
which area you will be advising what type of document we
will need. For example, if you will be advising us about
a particular country, then either proof of citizenship
or some type of educational degree such as a college
degree with a major in said country studies.
Advisors, both military and civilian
are non-paid positions. Each advisor will receive one
(1) comp copy of the supplement they assisted on and
credit on the title page as an advisor.
To become an advisor for 93 Games
Studio, please email us at
smokewolf@93gamesstudio.com and include “Advisor
Application” in the subject line. Include why you are
qualified to be an advisor and a brief background of
your experience. All submissions must be followed up
with a two signed copy of the
NDA (Non-disclosure Agreement). I will sign one and
mail it back to you.
